Throughout the month of May The works of Thep Thavonsouk will be on display in the Community Gallery of La Maison des artistes visuels. This accomplished Laotian artist studied many traditional techniques in both China and Japan. Showcasing 5 prints and one original work, the proceeds of the sale of these works will benefit SKL Inc.

We are pleased to announce Give a Hand, a Montréal organization, joins forces with SKL Inc. and our partners by sponsoring the construction of the sanitary washrooms and classrooms furniture for Ban Pakxoun Primary School. Another successful SKL fundraiser kicked off 2013's summer weather in Winnipeg. A big thanks to our many loyal supporters, volunteers, friends and families, and of course our hard working members of SKL for their contribution to our most successful fundraiser yet!

We would also like to thank Friends of SKL group for taking charge of gathering and putting numerous beautiful prizes for the event's silent auction, and to our generous donors for helping realize the children in Laos' dreams of a brighter future through education.

SKL's Annual Fundraising Dinner

The Night Market is the theme of our 6th annual fundraising dinner, which will be taking place on May 4 at the West Gymnasium of the Saint-Boniface College. No need to pack your bags, no need to sit on a 24-hour flight, and no jet lag. Treat your senses, and immerse yourselves in Laotian culture through the tastes and smells of authentic Laotian cuisine, the sights and sounds of traditional costumes, dances, music and video... and for the first time, a Premiere of CBC Radio Television's 30-minute documentary showing SKL's work in Laos.

Guest performers include the award-winning Marijosee, Khene musician Jonny Olsen, and world-renowned painter/artist Thep Thavonsouk.

Doors open at 5:30PM , sit back and have some wine with friends and family, and shop in the cultural Night Market. This exotic evening getaway is only $30, which of course, will help build a new school for children in Laos!

On Friday March 29, School for Kids in Laos Inc. members and friends were at Siloam Mission in Winnipeg, Manitoba to help prepare and serve dinner to approximately 150 people.
