Update on SKL’s 14th School Project
Since 2007, SKL has remained firmly committed to supporting underserved children in rural Laos by helping provide safe and dignified learning environments.
Over the past year, our team has worked diligently to identify a deserving candidate for SKL’s 14th school construction project. After careful evaluation, two schools were selected: Huay Namyen Primary School in July 2025 and later Botèn–Mixay Secondary School in January 2026. In both cases, formal Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) were signed with the relevant local authorities.
Unfortunately, after the agreements had been signed, the respective authorities later withdrew their participation, citing factors beyond our control, including geographic limitations, land ownership considerations, shifting local priorities, and various logistical or regulatory challenges. As a result, both projects have been indefinitely paused.
While these developments are disappointing, they reaffirm the importance of SKL’s commitment to transparency, fairness, and responsible partnership. Rather than proceeding under uncertain conditions, we believe it is essential that every project meet the standards of preparation, collaboration, and long-term sustainability that our supporters rightfully expect.
Our search for a deserving and well-prepared candidate school continues actively.

🎉 Don Phoung Primary School Inauguration 🎉
We are thrilled to announce the inauguration of Don Phoung Primary School on December 15, 2025, following nearly four months of construction.
This achievement was made possible thanks to the dedication of the PRÉCI 2025 Team from the École de Technologie Supérieure (ÉTS), Université du Québec à Montréal, whose commitment helped turn a vision into a lasting place of learning for the children of Don Phoung. Stay tuned!

📢 Now Underway: Don Phoung Primary School (2025)
Project 13: Don Phoung Primary School, in Xanakham District, Vientiane Province.
Thanks to PRÉCI and their generous donors and supporters this project is now possible. PRÉCI is working closely in partnership with SKL to build a five-classroom school with furniture, washrooms, clean water, and electricity.
This inspiring cross-cultural partnership highlights the power of youth-driven leadership and international collaboration.

Due to circumstances beyond our control, these projects will not proceed at this time. Donations will be applied to the next selected school project.
